Sofia Dyminski

Sofia Dyminski was a Polish artist who came to Brazil with her family in 1929, initially living in São Paulo and then in several cities in the interior of Paraná and Santa Catarina. In 1950, she settled in Curitiba and from then on became definitively involved with art, contributing significantly to the rupture that was taking place in Paraná art towards modernity.

The colors used by the artist are the result of a fantastic synthesis of the light of a tropical country with the greens and pinks brought from her childhood in Poland.

Sofia Dyminski's most recent works maintain the freshness of her youthful work, in addition to the very strong mark of the artist's personality, which has always been present in all her production.

Sofia passed away on January 31, 2011 at the age of 92 .
